Sometimes a card starts with a perfectly organized plan.
And sometimes it starts with a spinning wheel, four random parameters, a brand-new-to-me marker system, and me wondering what exactly I had gotten myself into.
This bonus Craft Roulette card came together from the same parameters we used during Craft Roulette Live ’26, but I wanted to take them in a different direction. The result is a layered Christmas card filled with rich plum tones, metallic gold, patterned paper, a sweet little woodland fox, and a sneak peek at something brand new from Pajama Crafter Stamps.

And if you watch the YouTube Live replay, you also get the added entertainment of watching me try Ohuhu markers for the very first time.
That part was both maddening and hilarious.
The Craft Roulette Parameters
For this bonus card, I worked with the same four prompts from the wheel:
Card: Square
Colors: Excited
Element: Country
Random: Frames
One of the things I love about Craft Roulette is that the prompts are open enough to interpret in completely different ways. You can take the exact same four parameters and end up with a card that looks nothing like your first one.
That is exactly what happened here.
Starting With a Square Card
The card base is made from Pebbled Beach Cardstock, which gave me a warm, neutral foundation for all the layers that were coming next.
The square format gave me plenty of room to play with overlapping panels and frames without making the design feel too cramped.
And trust me, this card needed room.
There are layers everywhere.
“Excited” Colors Meant Christmas
he color prompt was excited, and for me, Christmas colors instantly fit that feeling.
Christmas gets me excited.
Instead of using a strictly traditional red-and-green palette, I went with a richer combination of evergreen, berry tones, warm cream, deep plum, and metallic gold.
The result still feels festive, but the plum and gold give it a more elegant, slightly vintage Christmas look.
A Sneak Peek at Sugar Plum Wishes
Now for the fun part.
The patterned papers on this card are from the not-yet-released Sugar Plum Wishes paper pack.
Yes, this is your sneak peek.
The paper pack includes beautiful plum tones, soft pinks, creamy neutrals, floral details, and vintage-inspired patterns that work so well together.
I mixed several of the patterns throughout the card instead of choosing just one. Deep plum cardstock was used between the patterned layers to help separate each section and keep the design from becoming too busy.
That little bit of contrast makes all the difference.
The Country Element: A Darling Fox From Christmas Peeks
For the country element, I reached for the sweet fox from the Christmas Peeks stamp set.
A woodland fox peeking through evergreen branches and berries felt like a perfect fit for the country theme.
He looks like he wandered right out of the countryside, found the Christmas greenery, and decided that was where he belonged.
Honestly, I can’t blame him.
The fox is tucked behind the greenery and framed with metallic gold, which makes him the clear focal point of the card without losing all the detail happening around him.
Trying Ohuhu Markers for the First Time
This is where the real adventure began.
I colored the fox from Christmas Peeks using Ohuhu alcohol markers, and I had never used them before.
Ever.
Trying a completely unfamiliar marker brand while crafting live was, apparently, the plan.
If you watch the YouTube replay, you can see me learning the markers in real time.
There were moments when I thought, “Oh, I like this.”
There were other moments when I looked at the markers like they had personally betrayed me.
Watching me struggle with a new-to-me marker brand was both maddening and hilarious.
But that is also one of the best parts of trying something new.
Different alcohol markers move differently, blend differently, and sometimes force you to rethink combinations that would normally feel automatic.
By the time the fox was finished, I had learned a few things, laughed at myself more than once, and ended up with a pretty adorable little guy.
I’ll call that a win.
Frames, Frames, and More Frames
The random parameter was frames, and I definitely did not hold back.
The card uses multiple cardstock mats to create framed areas throughout the entire design.
The large plum mat frames the main card panel, while smaller patterned-paper sections are framed with coordinating cardstock.
Then there is the metallic gold rectangular frame around the fox, which adds a little shine and helps draw your eye directly to the focal image.
Using several frames also helped organize all those patterned papers.
Instead of the layers feeling random, the repeated framing creates structure and keeps everything connected.
Building the Layers
This card is all about dimension and movement.
The patterned-paper panels overlap in different directions, giving the background lots of visual interest.
The deeper plum cardstock helps define the separate sections, while the metallic gold adds just enough sparkle.
I also added small embellishments throughout the card to bring in even more Christmas shimmer.
The Merry Christmas sentiment stretches across the focal image on a light neutral strip, which ties back nicely to the Pebbled Beach card base.
It also gives the eye a place to rest among all those layers.
Because sometimes even a very layered card needs a little breathing room.
Watch the YouTube Live Replay
If you missed the Live, you can still watch the YouTube Live replay and see the entire process.
You’ll get to watch the Craft Roulette parameters come together, see the Sugar Plum Wishes paper pack before release, and experience the full Joy-versus-Ohuhu-marker situation.
I promise it was entertaining.
Maybe not always for me.
But definitely for everyone watching.
The replay is also a good reminder that crafting does not always have to look perfectly polished while it is happening.

A Little Sneak Peek of What’s Coming
This card is just one small look at the upcoming Sugar Plum Wishes paper pack, and there is so much more coming.
I love how these papers pair with the Christmas Peeks stamps, especially with the plum, cream, evergreen, and gold color combination.
It gives Christmas cardmaking a fresh look while still feeling warm and festive.
You will definitely be seeing more of Sugar Plum Wishes very soon.
Until then, I hope this bonus card inspires you to revisit a challenge you have already completed and try the same prompts again.
Use a different stamp set.
Change the colors.
Try new paper.
Or, if you are feeling brave, grab a marker brand you have never used before and see what happens.
Worst case?
You get a good story out of it.
