Turkey Full of Thanks

Hey Turkeys! Are you ready for Thanksgiving? My favorite dish for thanksgiving is Sweet Potato Casserole with a Strudel topping, and turkey is a close second! Naturally for my card today I chose the turkey included in the digital stamp set, Thanks from Joy Clair Designs. I just love this fun guy and the beautiful leaves that accompany him. Let’s take a look…

I made a mini slimline card to show off this darling turkey from the Thanks stamp set, and started out by printing him onto smooth cardstock. I colored the turkey and leaves with Copics and added highlights with a white gel pen. I wanted to do something a little different, so I used an Arc System punch to create the design on my front panel. Before punching the panel, I also embossed it with a 3D folder to more texture and dimension. I thought it would be funny to place the turkey on a plate, so I die cut 2 stitched circles and inked the edges to give it the appearance of depth. I used the same Thanks stamp set for the sentiment and die cut it to make a banner.

I thought the card need a few more design details to ground the turkey so I backed the embossed panel with red cardstock, but it still needed something. I used a 1/4 inch strip scrap as a small border and I think it added just enough interest. I then constructed my layout popping up some of the element for added dimension and tucked the leaves from the Thanks stamp set behind the plate and turkey. I just love how this arrangement turned out. Finally added a few enamel dots that you can find in the shop.

Okay I think this wraps up this card for me. If you are interested you can find the entire line of Joy Clair Designs stamps HERE! I have a special discount code to the SHOP, JOYWILSON for an additional 5% off your order.
