Joy Clair Designs New Release

Hello today is an exciting new release day at Joy Clair Designs. This new release consists of six digital stamp sets featuring beautiful florals, vacation themed images and “proud of you” moments. This really is a gorgeous release and will take you all the way through the summer and beyond! Let’s take a quick look at all of the stamps being released today!

Throughout the month of April I have been exploring the diverse ways that digital images can be used. Today, my card features Modern Duets, which is the perfect set for foiling with toner, and pencil coloring. I love Modern Duets because it comes with both solid and outlined flowers which lend themselves perfectly for foiling. I use a Brother Monochromatic Laser printer when working with foils and find I get really beautiful results. One tip is to increase your DPI before printing so that you get the most toner from the printer because that is what the foil sticks to. For toner foiling, you place the pretty side of the foil facing up toward you and the mat side facing down on to the paper.

Above I’m showing two different views or angles of the card so that you can see the brilliance of the holographic foil I used on the Modern Duet stamps. In Adobe Photo Shop Elements I created one canvas with foliage and printed it onto black card stock. I have found that 65 or 80# card stock works the best, and then on another canvas I sized and printed the flowers onto peacock blue card stock. I let my laminator heat up for a good 30 minutes before I ran the images and foil through it. I know some machines have fancy carrier sheets that come with them, but I use good old plain copy paper for mine. After foiling the flowers, I used 3 colored pencils to color in the outlined flowers (white, fushia, and darker fuschia), making sure not color over the foiled lines. You could do the same technique using inks and a dauber because the foil will resist the inks. In hindsight they may have been easier, but I’m happy with the results. I fussy cut the images out with a detail scissors and got busy creating a cluster. To finish of my card I attached a black twine bow, and silver stickles. I almost forgot, I added a small silver metallic strip to the right for added shine!

Okay I think that pretty much sums up this beautiful, but easy to create cards. I hope this inspires you to take a look at the Joy Clair Designs Shop today!
