I am so humbled by being part of the paper crafting community because I have met the best of the best. That means you the crafter. I never thought when I first started out on this journey that my closest friends were going to be met through the love of paper. If I never gained one thing other than friendship from this community, I would be a happy lady. I try to give back to the community by sharing my makes, my mistakes, and any knowledge I may have, but really I have learned just as much from all of you. Thank you!
I am very lucky because I have a husband who encourages and supports all of my crafty endeavors. Without his backing I wouldn’t be able to do any of this and am very grateful. In addition to my love of all things inky and paper, I love animals. I have what we lovingly call our zoo. I have dogs, too many cats, and two parrots that keep me busy. If you have watched any of my videos or talked with me on the phone I am sure you have heard my cockatoo scream a time or two.
I am amazed that I get to create almost every day and when I think back to my first card, I wasn’t able to fold a card base and certainly didn’t know the correct measurements. I’ve come a long way since then and have had the pleasure of serving on a multitude of design teams for my favorite companies. I have taken an endless number of classes to learn the skills required, but have so much more to learn. I am grateful for the learning process and growth our industry allows. I think attending Creativation with Maker Forte was the best thing ever and I loved networking with my industry superheroes.
I have come to realize that I want to help others grow in their craft and try to give away as much information, tips and tricks as possible. That sometimes translates to, “don’t do what I did”. I think you can learn something from everyone and take away little nuggets of knowledge with every encounter. My desire to give back to the community who has given me so much is the reason I share my projects here on the website, on social media, and Youtube. My hope is to become an instructor and inspire others. I’m definitely working toward that goal and look forward to as many teaching opportunities as possible. I am thankful to those who have and continue to mentor me and will never be able to express my gratitude fully.
Much love,
Joy
