Hi and welcome back to my crafty space! My crafty friend and I decided to have a challenge this weekend to spark creativity. It may not sound like a difficult challenge, but it at least gave us something to do during this Covid-19 scare. We decided we had to use an Unity Stamp, 3 embellishments, a sentiment and themed Easter. She has more Unity stamps than anyone I know, but for me it wasn’t until a year ago when my friend got me hooked on them so I didn’t have any Easter stamps by them. In retrospect I don’t have many Easter stamps even though it is the most important holiday in my life… strange. This card took me back to my first year that I started making cards and had one “sunrise” stencil (from a guy named Tim) and texture paste that I didn’t know how to use or make it stick…. like do you let it air dry… do you use a heat gun…. yep that’s what went through my head back then. And really… I had no idea who Tim Holtz was… How in the heck was that possible? I will share the card and then get into the details…

For this card I started out by blending Memento Dandelion ink through the Rays stencil, and then die cut the cross. On another white layer of card stock I inked up the floral Unity stamp with London Fog ink and then colored the image with copics. I popped up the first layer with foam tape and added the yellow bow. I used two random wood embellishments that I’ve had in my stash and white pearls to add a little bling. On the inside of the card I stamped the gingham print in the Dandelion ink and the sentiment with Versafine ink. To finish the card I added a little bit of stickles and shimmer pen to the flowers. I think the card came out perfectly Easter and met the challenge. I cannot wait to see what my friend made, as she is an amazing paper crafter!
