Moose on the Loose: A Sparkling Winter Card with Vibrant Copic Coloring

Let a little winter mischief loose! This handmade card features the Moose on the Loose stamp set, vibrant Copic marker coloring, and a pairing of Frosted Timbers and Savannah Neutrals…

Who says winter cards have to be quiet and subdued? This moose has other plans! Today’s handmade card combines the Moose on the Loose stamp set, vibrant Copic marker coloring, coordinating patterned papers, and a little icy sparkle for a project full of personality.

With the Frosted Timbers and Savannah Neutrals paper packs setting the scene, this playful design brings together the warmth of handmade cardmaking and the shimmer of a chilly winter day. Consider it a little happiness ready to slip into an envelope!

Bringing Moose on the Loose to Life with Copic Markers

For this card, I wanted the coloring to feel vibrant and full of energy. I reached for my Copic markers to bring the Moose on the Loose stamped image to life, making the character the star of the project.

One of my favorite things about alcohol marker coloring is how much personality color can add to a stamped image. A stronger shadow or a brighter highlight can make a familiar character feel completely different.

If you’re working on your own Copic coloring, give those darker shades a chance! Leaving room for highlights while building deeper shadows helps create dimension and keeps bright colors from looking flat. That contrast can make such a difference in your finished handmade cards.

Pairing Frosted Timbers with Savannah Neutrals

I combined the Frosted Timbers paper pack with Savannah Neutrals to complement the colorful stamped image. Mixing paper packs is a wonderful way to get more creative mileage from your supplies and discover combinations you might otherwise overlook.

For a vibrant focal image, neutral papers can give the eye a place to rest. Pairing them with seasonal patterned paper helps establish the mood while allowing the coloring to draw attention.

Try pulling out a favorite winter paper pack and placing it beside your everyday neutrals. You may already have the perfect pairing waiting in your craft room!

Making Ice and Water Splashes Sparkle

The finishing touch was light blue Stickles on the ice and water splashes. These little accents add shimmer right where the scene calls for it, giving the chilly details an extra bit of magic.

I love choosing embellishments that help tell the story of a card. Here, the sparkle connects directly to the ice and splashing water, making those details feel more lively and playful.

If you’re trying this idea, start with small amounts of glitter glue so the stamped details remain visible, and allow it to dry thoroughly before handling your card.
