Today I’m celebrating World Card Making Day with a scene that makes me smile every time I look at it—a cozy little camping adventure taken over by bears! For some reason, whenever I imagine a campsite, I can’t help but picture the bears moving right in. They’re roasting marshmallows, making s’mores, chowing down on my favorite chips, and then curling up in my tent to gaze at the glowing full moon. It’s a whimsical twist that makes this card feel alive with story and fun.

Creating the Scene
For this project, I brought the bears to life using Copic markers to add depth and warmth to their fur. To set the mood, I blended the night sky background with Distress Oxide inks, layering shades for that dreamy evening glow. The finishing touch was the Full Moon stencil, which really makes the scene magical—like you’re right there under the stars.
The contrast between the playful bears and the serene night sky is exactly what I wanted: a mix of lighthearted fun and that peaceful camping vibe.
Imagining the Bears’ Adventure
I kept thinking: if bears really did take over a campsite, what would they do first? Besides eating my chips, I bet they’d be the best tent snugglers, cozied up under the lantern light, staring up at that huge, glowing moon. I love that card making lets us explore those kinds of little daydreams—it’s storytelling through ink, color, and stamps.
How Would You Use the Happy Camper Set?
For this card, I used the Happy Camper stamp set to create my camping critter scene. But I’m curious—how would you use it? Maybe you’d design a daytime forest picnic, or a mountain hike with critters carrying backpacks, or even a rainy camp scene with everyone tucked under the tent.
