Hello friends! I have such a special birthday card to share with you today using the Need Some Space stamp set from Sweet Sentiment Stamps. I actually colored this one on a Facebook Live so I will link to that below. But you will notice this is a one layer scene card colored with Copics. And let me tell you the coloring is easy peasy!
I started this intergalactic scene by tracing a four inch circle onto the bottom of my Sweet Sentiment Coloring Paper. It’s important to remember to erase the lines almost completely before coloring because the Copic markers will prevent erasing later on. After that I stamped the two images from the Need Some Space so that the robot was on Saturn and the alien was floating. I let my audience determine what planet/moon I was going to color and the colors of the images, but then I got into creating the galaxy.
It’s much easier than you think. You chose a few Blue Greens, Violets, and Red Violets and scribble… I mean blend them diagonally across the sky. I used the BV 20 family to form the darkness of the sky. After that I simply used a white gel pen to create the stars and comets. Normally I would splatter the panel with paint, but since this a one layer card and the paint would disperse over everything, I didn’t want it to look like snow. As you know snow falls in front of, on and behind objects, where areas the stars are behind them.
