Susan Tierney-Cockburn and Spellbinders did it again with another fabulous addition tot he Painter’s Garden Collection. Today I chose to play with a few new products to me; the Gerber Daisy and Ladybugs, the Bamboo Trellis 3D embossing folder and Olo Markers. It’s so exciting that so many wonderful products and brands can be found in the Spellbinders shop, so if you haven’t visited lately, take a gander.
What I like about the Gerber Daisy and Ladybugs die, is that the number of petals (or layers) that are needed are etched into the die so you don’t have to guess. I like it when companies make it easy on me. I obviously cut out enough to create three flowers and then colored the petals with Olo Markers in the R 0.4-0.8 range to get the depth of color. Spellbinders carries the Olo Portrait color set which would be comparable to what I used. For the leaves I used the Forest Olo color set which I think made the perfect leaf color. I love the dimension I received making these using the Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit and Beacon’s Kids Choice Glue which is thick yet, pliable. It’s perfect!
Once the flowers were shaped, I then arranged them on an embossed layer featuring the Bamboo Trellis. I wanted the flowers to be the star of the show so I went with tone on tone background/cardbase using the Barely Peach Color Essentials Cardstock and also stamped the Let’s Celebrate sentiment onto the same. I finished off the card with some simple peach colored sequins from my stash. I just love how this came out!!!
