Peek-a-boo Window Card

Hello my friends! I have a fun card to share with you using the beautiful stamp set from Scrappy Tails Crafts called Flower Shop. My inspiration came from my team member’s Deep Robbins recent project, you should check that out too! This appears to be a one layer card, but it has quite a few steps involved and was a blast to create!!!! How can you not love a Peek-a-boo Window Card?

I started off by partially die cutting the Flower Shop window die in the center of the card base so that the window panes would be “open” and then started my stamping. I stamped the flower box with window and the lady using Copic friendly ink and then colored them. Be sure to check out my video because I left in a huge mistake and explain how to fix it. After that I die cut the images and began the process of building my scene.

To build the scene I stenciled on some clouds with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink and gave the illusion of grass by blending Mowed Lawn Distress Ink onto the bottom of the card. Be sure to use some masking tape protect the crease of the card and backside from any over blending. Next I stamped the sentiment from Flower Shop using Versafine Nocturne Ink because it is my favorite for sentiments. This ink is crisp and clean every single time!

After completing the front side of the card, I positioned the lady so that her face and her flowers were peeking out of the window. Although I made this a friendship card, wouldn’t this be perfect for Mother’s Day? I also blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Ink around her to make her pop! But I just wasn’t sold 100% on my design. I went back to what Sabrina always says… “adding acetate takes your cards to the next level making them more professional looking”. I then die cut another window frame and adhered an acetate window onto it and then sandwiched it between the existing one. The video definitely explains this process in more detail. Finally I added a few gems to embellishment the front because every card can use a little bling in my opinion.
