Hey friends! How are you today? I am back with a fun project for Scrappy Tails Crafts and I’m using one of my favorite mediums, that I sorta neglected. I’m really into mixing the old with new this year and think you’re going to love this rainbow alcohol ink background and my favorites from Scrappy Tails!
When purchasing my crafting supplies, I like to think of at least five different ways to use them before committing to buying them. You will see that I am using products across the Scrappy Tails releases over the last year, and of course my alcohol inks that have been in hiding for a few years. So let’s get into this.
I decided to create my background first, I have to admit it was inspired by a fellow team member’s project (Kristina Hein) that you can find HERE! I used the Tim Holtz alcohol inks in the colors Watermelon, Sunshine Yellow, Limeade, and Aquamarine and attempted to create a diagonal flow of colors with them, but ultimately the inks had a mind of their own. While the panel dried I die cut the Labrador from Garden Stand Animals 3 times so that I could stack them for a chipboard effect. Once the background was dry I cut it out with the Scalloped Heart Addon die that was released around Valentine’s Day, but I think it was perfect for today’s card. Next was to create the sentiment because I didn’t have exactly what I wanted, but don’t you know the Fairy Sentiments set released last year was perfect for piecing together the perfect saying! I heat embossed one in white powder and the other was stamped in black and embossed in a clear powder. I love how the sentiments balance one another perfectly.
I invite you to watch the process video below because alcohol inks can be mesmerizing lol!
