Hello friends! What’s your favorite Easter candy? As a kid, I loved Peeps, and the yellow ones were my favorite! These days I shy away from the sugary goodness, but thankfully I can still create with them, using the Eggstra Sweet Peeps stamp set from Maker Forte! It’s calorie free, what could be better than that? I know… adding bows, bow ties, mustaches, faces, and glasses! Cute right?
For this card I started with the background using the 4 layer Easter Background stencil and blended Color Hive Inks in the colors, Bubble Gum, Grape, Yellowstone, and Blue Moon through it. I love a few things about these stencils, one being that they easy store or come with holes punched to store in a binder, the other being that they are labeled with the name and layer number. It really takes the guess work out of how to line them up and which layer comes next making your crafting quick and easy. With that said, I used one color for each layer creating the fun background.
Next, I stamped the Eggstra Sweet Peeps onto Perfect Blend Cardstock with Color Hive Eclipse ink and colored them with basic Copic blends and fussy cut them out. I also stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set and ink, and heat embossed it with clear powder. And since every peep needs a little sugar, I added Sugar Spark Glitter in the color Snow Flurries to them. So cute right? Once the peeps were arranged onto the stenciled background I matted it with Grape Cardstock and then adhered them to an A2 Top Fold Perfect Fold Card Base. To finish off the card I added a few sequins from my stash for a little shimmer and shine! I hope you will give this card a try!
