Deer To Me Easy Ink Blended Background

Hello Friends! We made it to February! That’s amazing right? I’m finally letting the cat out of the bag and letting you know that I am super excited to be joining the Maker Forte team! I have been such a fan for so long, and honestly I think I learned how to make a cards watching Alexandra’s videos. What an honor to be on this team surrounded by such talented folks! Also what’s new to me is, I started a Youtube channel, which took a lot of courage. I hope you will follow me over there and cheer me on. Lord knows, I could use all the encouragement possible.

Just to start off with a little laugh, I had to create this card twice because my camera cut off and I lost half of the footage. So of course when I was putting the card together the second time the background was upside down, but I think it’s A okay for my second ever video! Any who, I started my project by die cutting the Deer To Me die with black card stock which in my opinion cut like a dream! I appreciate it when I don’t have to spend long periods of time weeding dies from the paper. I did use the Crafters Magic Wand to assist in process!

Next I created the background to show case Deer to Me, using Distress Oxide inks in the colors, Ripe Persimmon, Antique Linen, Evergreen Bough, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. I love how this night sky came out, but isn’t curious why the orange and green didn’t make brown. Well that’s because I broke it up with Antique Linen which has a yellow undertone making that blend possible. I added a few splatters of white paint to create the sky. While the background was drying, I stamped a sentiment on the inside of the Slimline Perfect Fold card base using the Color Hive Eclipse ink. After that I adhered the Deer To Me die cut piece onto the background and then applied Sugar Sparkle- Moon Dust glitter with Crystal Clear Maker’s Magic Glue to add a little shimmer and shine to my project! You know I love me some dimension, so I had to pop up the panel with foam tape before applying it to the card base. But that pretty much wraps up my card for today!

I’d love for you to check out my video and leave me some encouragement, and maybe like and subscribe please.
