Hello friends! I’m curious what time do wake up in the morning. The rule of the land in my house is “Do not call me until noon!” I don’t have this rule because I get up that late, but because that’s when I reach peak caffeine levels. Lol. I often tell me husband, “I love your more than coffee,” because he is allowed to talk to me at any caffeine level. When I saw this new Hug in Mug release from Scrappy Tails Crafts I knew this would be my valentine for my hubs!
I stuck with a classic Valentine color scheme because red and black cards speak to me. I started my card by die cutting the A7 Lace Heart Cover plate and adhering it to a 5 x7 inch black panel. Once the die cut frame was centered, I heat embossed two sayings using the Coffee Sentiments stamp set in fine detail white embossing powder. I then got to work with the two darling caffeinated drinks from Coffee Love which I stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copics. I just couldn’t resist adding a few more details in true Valentine fashion, and stamped two small sentiments from the Sweet Bear stamp set onto the drinks. Finally I arranged the hearts and drinks to create a little collage and then added a few sequins for more shine.
Design Tip: Adding shading to the die cuts adds contrast. Adding white stitching adds interest and keeps the eye moving.
