Hello my sweet friends! I needed a break from holiday cards and since it got up to the fifties today, I thought it would be fun to color up a sunny, spring inspired card. If you know me at all, you know I love frogs, and have had many for pets over the years so I couldn’t help but be drawn to Frog Friend by Whimsy Stamps which is available both as clear stamp and digital.
I started this project while attending Jen Dove’s Bootcamp where I completed the boy’s overalls and the tree stump. I drew in the background and colored it up in bright yellow greens to get the summery feel. I used a muted green for the frog and then applied some warm grays to further grunge him up. I really wanted the little boy to be the focal point and I think the red hat really accomplishes that. What do you think?
I linked to Jen’s website above if you are interested in more information. If you have never attended, I highly recommend it. Thanks for hanging out with me today!
Just a small disclaimer! All items used in all of my projects are (or have been) purchased with my own funds, but this does not include design team items that I have received or otherwise stated.
Until next time…. keep crafting!!!

That’s amazing Joy!! I’d love to learn to create backgrounds like that❣ Fantastic job!
Thank you. Honestly the backgrounds are just a few curved lines with what I call the scary dark colors to define them blended to bright highlight color. I’m betting you could do it too. It’s a 3 color blend♥️♥️ I’d be glad to help you out
