Hello friends! It’s Saturday! Yay! And it’s supposed to be a beautiful, crisp Autumn day, which I am so thankful for. Today I get to celebrate my Dad’s birthday with him, as he is in town for deer hunting season. Which brings me to his birthday card which was part of Stamptember from My Favorite Things. I was so excited when the Time To Unwind stamp came out because it is perfect for my outdoors loving father. So Let’s take a look …
Since this stamp was part of the Simon Says Stamps, Stamptember, this has been sold out and will not be available again. I checked the MFT website and there is a darling stamp set called, BB Sweater Weather, which has a cute moose, bear, and other critters to create a similar scene. I will link it below if you are interested.
This card was very simple to create and a lot of fun. I started with the background first and blended Distress Oxides in the colors of Broken China, Tumbled Glass, and Mowed Lawn and then lightly stenciled the clouds with the same Broken China. Then I went to town stamping the images from Time To Unwind with Memento ink and colored them with simple blends of Copics. I used my Scan-n-Cut to cut them out because I am too lazy to fussy cut anything! Once I knew what my layout was going to look like I stamped the birthday sentiment from a retired Stampendous set and the other sentiment from the MFT set with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and heat embossed it. Pretty simple huh? I’m curious do you think my Pops will love it?
