Hello friends! How is your week going? I’ve been pretty busy, but I am looking forward to a fun filled weekend celebrating everything Fall. Do you have any plans? I’d love to hear about them in the comments below! I just couldn’t help, but make another Autumn scene, this time I used Oak Fairy by Sweet Sentiment. I had so much fun coloring the fairy, until I messed up my background royally. It all started with outlining the wings with BV29 and the rest went down hill until it didn’t.
I stamped the gorgeous, Oak Fairy onto smooth cardstock using Memento ink so that I could use Copics to color her. I am loving orange and turquoise this year so I knew that’s where I was going to start. My intent was to have a brown background and highlight the orange leaves of the trees, but then I grabbed that dark blue violet and outlined the wings. I almost cried when I realized what I did. But, anyhow I kept going and still hated it, and then I had the bright idea to use a medium blue violet and color the entire panel with it. That’s one thing I love about Copics is that they have translucent ink, meaning the browns and oranges still shine through. I finally decided to keep the panel, so I cut out a leaf pattern with my Scan n Cut and stamped the fun sentiment inside.
I’d love to know if you think I pulled it out of the crapper?
Until next time… keep crafting!!!
