Hello crafty friends! I’m back today with a beautiful project for Scrappy Tails Crafts which I am calling the the gifts of Christmas. As a child I remember running to the mailbox in my snow boots hoping for a card or gift and then waiting with anticipation to open it on Christmas Day. Do you have memories like this too? I think the Cardinal Blessings stamp set captures this moment perfectly, and has me dreaming of Christmas.
To create this card I started by cutting a “hill side” free-handed and masked the bottom third of my panel and then blended a soft purple and blue dye ink with a blending brush. I also splattered it with white acrylic paint and put it aside to dry. Next I stamped the mail box and presents from Cardinal Blessings onto smooth cardstock and colored them with Copics. To create the fun layered trees I cut the A2 Forest Tree Cover Plate using white and silver glitter cardstock and removed the center branch from them. I offset them slightly to get the shadow effect when stacking them. Being true to myself, the sentiment was an afterthought, so you guessed it I stamped it once my entire card was constructed and embossed it with silver embossing powder. Thank God for Misti Stamping Platforms! For final embellishment I added a light mist of shimmer spray and silver gems to accent the glistening snow.
I hope that you have enjoyed this card and will give it a try! For more inspiration please join us on the Scrappy Tails Crafts Facebook page! You will find stunning projects on the Scrappy Tails blog, Youtube, and on Instagram!
