Hello friends! Do you struggle with masculine designs, like I do? I always want to add bling and shine to my cards, so when I design a card for my husband I always worry that it’s too “girl” like. I wonder if this card that I made him fits the ticket? I’d love to know your thoughts on the card. Let’s take a look…
I have to admit it was fun designing this project as it wasn’t for a design team, so I could use any combination of projects of my choosing. The only stepping off point was that I wanted to used the Scrappy Tails Crafts, Assorted Leaves die set because it fills out an A2 sixed panel nicely. I then did a search to see what you are supposed to give as a sixth anniversary gift, and I was shocked to find out that it is steel! Knowing that, I chose this dark pewter colored mirrored card stock for the the front panel and embossed it with Altenew Rows of Squares 3D embossing folder. Going back to the Assorted Leaves die set, I die cut several leaves and baby’s breath in white, silver mirror, black, and pewter cardstocks. I stacked each leaf twice so that it would be thick and chunky on the card.
Now this may be where you are surprised, because I was! I actually don’t own a Happy Anniversary stamp set. Shocker right? Luckily I found this great sentiment in the Stampin Up Forever Lovely Bundle which I heat embossed in silver. To assemble my card, I laid out my “bouquet” in a random pattern until I was happy and then glued it down with Bearly Art glue and then anchored it with a simple circle sentiment piece. For the final touches I used a few of the Bubble Bath Baubles from Trinity Stamps.
You may be wondering what exactly you could find that is iron. My search showed a lot of cast iron pots/pans/bowls/presses, but I wanted something unique and different that my husband would always remember. I finally the right gift! A cast iron dinner bell!!! Crazy right? I bought this one for him to hang in his man cave lol!
Anyhow he laughed and said he had seen it on the Amazon orders, and thought it was a prop for my cards. Men I swear are so silly! But like a good husband, it is proudly hanging in his cave!!!! Let’s take one last look at the card…
Thanks for sticking with me for so long! I hope you have a fabulous day!
Just a small disclaimer! All items used in all of my projects are (or have been) purchased with my own funds, but this does not include design team items that I have received or otherwise stated.
Until next time… keep crafting!!!!
