Hello crafty friends! It’s one of those sad times that you need a sympathy card. I made this one for my neighbor who just lost her Chihuahua of 18 years. I really miss our dogs running and barking along the fence line, but I know that all dogs go to heaven. With that said, I wanted to make a little note for her.
All of my die cutes, and stamps are from Whimsy Stamps if you are interested. I will have the links below for you. Any how to make this card I started out by die cutting The slimline dog bone from 7x 8.5 in panel scored in half on the short side. In order to get the bone shape onto a folded card base , I placed the die so that rounded ends of the bone hung over the folded crease. I then die cut one extra and adhered it to the card base. After that I did all of the other diecutting. I stacked 2-3 layers to make die cut pieces thicker and more chunky. I like to use the fine tip applicator on my Bearly Art Glue because it makes it easy to dot on glue for small word dies.
Even the dog I chose for the card isn’t a Chihuahua, I did color it to look like their dog. I believe this came from The Super Dogs stamp set by Whimsy. The hugs word die and paw prints were also die cut and stacked three times from the Puppy Paws die set. I didn’t use many embellishments except for the die cut hearts and the faux stitching with a black pen.
That wraps up my card for today. I hope it inspires you to do something crafty!!!
Just a small disclaimer! All items used in all of my projects are (or have been) purchased with my own funds, but this does not include design team items that I have received or otherwise stated.
Until next time… keep crafting!!!!
