Big Bold Butterfly

Hello friends! Welcome back for another fabulous project for Joy Clair Designs. Today I am featuring the Just Butterflies digital stamp which includes two images and four sentiments, but I only used one of the butterflies for this one.

I sized the Just Butterflies image to take up the majority of a 3.75 x 5 inch card panel in Adobe Photoshop Elements with part of the wings “hanging off” the page. That’s one thing I love about digital stamps is that I have the creative freedom to manipulate the images to fit my projects. I colored the image with Karin Brushmarker Pro markers, taking advantage of the wells that the laser printer creates. Once happy with the butterfly, I heat set it and started on the background. To get the loose water colored effect, I carefully spritzed the area to guide the water away from the butterfly and applied my teal marker directly to the paper letting the water carry the color. Isn’t that an oxymoron to carefully get a loose color? Hmm?

To finish off my big bold butterfly card , I trimmed the panel and matted it. I also wanted a little more texture so I embossed the card panel, leaving a tone on tone effect. My last few touches were to add bubble heart stickers from my stash.

Okay I think that pretty much sums up this beautiful, but easy to create cards. I hope this inspires you to take a look at the Joy Clair Designs Shop today!
