TRHD April Release Day 1

Hello crafters! It’s a very exciting day for The Rabbit Hole Designs fans, because we have a fabulous new release! We are kicking off this release with 3 days of blog hopping fun and giveaways! Today I am showcasing Harley Merbunny which is a 4×4 stamp set which has the cutest sentiments. Along the way, you will see other designers featuring the Beachin’ stamp set. Can you feel the tropical vibe yet? Are you excited for Release Day 1?

I started out by blending Distress Oxides in the colors Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, and Salty Ocean using a Cottontail Blender brush through the Splish Splash stencil to get a water effect. After removing the stencil I lightly blended Simon Hurley’s Clear Skies over the entire panel so that the stencil lines weren’t so stark. Once happy with the blend I trimmed it down to an 4 x 5.25 inch panel and matted it with a black layer.

Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the Merbunny image on to smooth card stock and colored it with Copic Markers. For the bunny I stuck with soft cool grey blend, but for the tail I choose more vibrant colors in the Violet and Red Violet color families. I blended the tail using tiny dots in concentrated areas to form the scales, and of course I added shimmer!! I fussy cut my stamp, but there is a die that can be purchased with this release if you are interested.

I added a simple fish tail banner with the fun sentiment stamped in Versafine Clair Paradise ink. To add just a bit more interest I added just a few foliage sprigs from my stash and gems. Pretty cute, and not too difficult to makes. I hope you will give it a try!
