Hi and welcome back!

I made this card and combined two of my favorite techniques, copic coloring with embossing. To start my card I blended Over the Moon ink lightly in the left hand bottom corner and heat set it. I’m thankful I used my Misti, as I need to stamp the image twice to get a good impression. I think the white embossing is a pleasant surprise as normally we are used to seeing black lines with Copic coloring.

Once the embossing was finished, I had to choose my Copic colors wisely because I already head yellow dye ink in the background. I chose dye ink because it is Copic friendly, as opposed to a solvent or pigment ink. I started with the Y0 family and liked it, but knew I had to get some scary dark shadows in there, so I added the Y26. That was very scary!!! Again, copic coloring over embossing and yellow background played a key element when choosing the YG colors. I happen to love how the colors lit up when ran over the embossing. My last step was adding more of the Over the Moon ink over the entire image again to add depth.

No card is complete unless the inside is decorated too, in my humble opinion. I used the same Early Tulip stamp and ink used on the front for the inside panel, but instead stamped in the upper right corner. I just adore the sentiment too, which was stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

This card makes me so happy and reminds me that each day is a new beginning and we have a chance to make things better than the day before.

I am humbled and grateful to say this card was published in the Spring 2021 edition of Creative Scrapbook Magazine!
