Hi and welcome back to my crafty place! The best part of Halloween is creating the Sweet Halloween Party Favors and eating them! At Joy Clair Designs we are kicking off October with a “sweet Halloween”. For my project I made a sweet treat and a spooky Halloween party invitation.

The Invitation:
I started my project by planning out the invitation to my Sweet Halloween party. I used the I Dare You clear stamp set from Joy Clair Designs and stamped the images using my Misti stamp tool. I chose Versafine Onyx Black ink for this invitation because it is crisp black and able to be embossed. I positioned the I Dare You invitation lined stamped first so that I could center the other images around it. I matted the focal layer onto orange card stock with a narrow border and then applied it to some spooky designer papers. My last embellishment was to add a banner with a sentiment from the I Dare you stamp set as well.

The Cupcake Decorations
Design:
These darling cupcake decorations are from the Sweet Halloween digital stamp set from Joy Clair Designs, which is perfect because they can be sized to “order”. The first step I did was open a blank project in Photoshop Elements to form as 1x 4 inch strip of the candy corn and ghouls for the cupcake base. I also opened a project canvas measuring 4×4 inches to place the Trick or Treaters and the sentiment so that I would have reference scale to size my images. Once happy with the size I printed the Sweet Halloween images onto smooth card stock and colored them with Copic markers.

Construction:
After coloring the Sweet Halloween images, I fussy cut them with my cut n scan, because I’m terrible at cutting out images. I made a small slit on one edge of the cupcake strip and wrapped it around. For the adorable images, I glued them to a toothpick and creatively applied them to the icing. Very easy and would be adorable for a party.

The Cupcake:
I can’t take credit for making them, but they are my favorite store bought brand. Kimberly’s Gourmet Cupcakes were the perfect base for the Sweet Halloween favors. You may find me boring, but my favorite is the Vanilla Bean! If you can’t find them in bakery section of your grocery store, try the refrigerated section of the bakery! I hope I have tempted you to try both the cupcakes, and the craft!
