Hello and welcome back, Joy here! Oh my goodness I’m bringing you the June 2020, Magical Mermaid Inspiration Box today, and it is MERmazing!! These fun and flirty mermaids are are adorable and I just love the quirky sentiments! This box is jammed packed with creative and fun elements. You have to check it out! But, first here is my project that I am submerged (pun intended) in excitement with!
For this square card I started out by stamping the sand castle and mermaid onto a 4 3/4 square sheet of Alabaster card stock with my Misti stamping tool and Raven Detail ink. I then stamped the sentiment and puffer fish with same ink and fussy cut them out. My images and water scene were colored with alcohol markers. One tip, when coloring deep water scenes is to start out with your darkest color, but each time you go to a lighter color, make sure to overlap the colors to get a good blend. Also never pick your marker up from the paper until your layer is complete, so that you get a smooth wash of color. The background was made using Sea card stock and applying blue chroma glaze through the Circle Tone Stencil. Every mermaid needs a little a shimmer in her tail to make the outfit complete!
