Hi and welcome back! I’m so glad you’re here with us as it has been trying times, but here in the crafty world we get lost in our inks and find our stress free zone. I couldn’t be happier than to play with the Brutus Monroe Surface Sprays today. I chose colors that traditionally could turn to mud when mixed (Jack-o-Lantern and Cabbage), but what I like about these sprays is that once they are dry they don’t reactivate. Simply by adding a little bit of heat in between layers, I was able to layer and splatter the two colors with no problems. For some of the layers I spritzed the water color panel with water so that I would get a wash of color, and others I sprayed the surface sprays close up to get the intense bursts. Since my background is so bold, I decided to go with a simple monochromatic with the Christopher’s Shoes and sentiment. I stamped both using my Misti and Raven Detail ink, and heat set the ink before coloring with alcohol markers. I die cut the sentiment with Brutus Monroe Foundation Square dies, and popped it up with foam adhesive and backed it with scalloped square die from my craft room. My last touches were to add shimmer to the shoes and apply three enamel dots.
