If you love creating cards that make a statement, this brand-new release from Pajama Crafter Stamps is going to steal your crafty heart! Today I’m sharing a fun patriotic-inspired scene card featuring the adorable All American Girl stamp paired with the incredible new Hero Hotline Flash Cards background collection.

This release is packed with stamps designed for scene building, and I had an absolute blast mixing bold imagery, dramatic lighting, and vibrant Copic coloring to create this energetic design!

The sentiment says it all:

“Sparkle Like It’s the 4th of July.”

Creating a Bold Comic-Style Background

One of my favorite things about the new Hero Hotline Flash Cards is how easy they make dramatic card backgrounds. The comic-inspired burst lines instantly create movement and energy behind the focal image.

To make the background really pop, I added just a touch of Copic coloring to the sky area. Sometimes all a background needs is a subtle hint of color to completely transform the scene. The bright yellow glow creates the perfect superhero spotlight effect while still allowing the black-and-white cityscape to shine.

The contrast between the monochromatic city and the vibrant focal image helps draw your eye directly to the adorable All American Girl.

Copic Coloring Details

All images on this card were colored with Copic Markers. I leaned into a patriotic color palette using rich reds, bold blues, and soft skin tones to give the character a playful Americana vibe.

A few favorite details:

  • The oversized red and blue glasses
  • Flowing pigtails with dimensional highlights
  • The flag-inspired cape
  • Bright sparkle accents throughout the design

Adding tiny white gel pen details brought even more life and shine to the finished card.

Reds: R 59, 29, 46, 24, 12
Blue Jeans: b 99, 97,95, 95, 93,91
Blue Cape: B 39, 37, 34
Skin: E 04, 11, 21, 00, 000
Hair: E 39, 37, 35, 31
