This week’s Craft Roulette challenge brought a fun mix of creativity and constraints — just the way I like it! The project needed to include:
- A gift card holder
- Train colors
- Something related to science
- A flower
Here’s how I brought it all together:
🌟 Gift Card Holder: I started with the Lady Bug Gift Card Holder from Pajama Crafter Stamps — a charming, interactive way to dress up a gift card and bring a smile to the recipient’s face.
🎨 Train Colors: For my color palette, I drew inspiration from the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express — rich navy blues, deep greens,(in my case I went with a a pastel version) and touches of gold that give a sense of vintage elegance. These colors found their way into the patterned papers and layering details of the project.
🔬 Science: I worked a little science into the design through botany (the big daisy) and entomology (our star, the ladybug!). It was fun to give a nod to these fields while still keeping things playful and pretty.
🌼 Flower: To finish it off, I gave my ladybug a cozy spot to rest — a bold, bright daisy that anchors the whole design and adds a fresh pop of contrast.
This project was not only a blast to create but also a sweet reminder of how a handmade touch can elevate even the smallest gift. And yes — this design is made to order, perfect for any occasion!
