How To Create Classic Christmas Cards with Simon Hurley and Spellbinders

Hello friends! I’m so glad to be sharing more Christmas cards with you today. I know we are supposed to be looking forward to fall and all things Pumpkin and Spice, but I’m feeling more like a Peppermint Latte today. I just love the Simon Hurley and Spellbinders collaboration from July and thought I’d throw a few cards together. Let me know what you think.

I can’t believe how fast and easy this card came together. I stamped and die cut the Retro Holiday set and colored it with Copics. I then ran the Adorning the Tree 3D embossing folder through my die cutting machine and added it too a card base. Finally I added the card elements and bling and I was done!

My second card was an easy one to make too and would be perfect for mass producing for your Christmas Cards. I used a Circle Spotlight Stencil and blended three Distress Inks through it and then stamped a sentiment from the Silly Santas Bundle in black. Next I stamped one of the Santas in black and cut him out using the coordinating die. I thought it would be fun to pop him up with foam off to the left side. I thought I was going to quit there, but decided the right bottom corner was too plain. so I die cut the HO HO HO from the same set and I think it really finished this card off. Let me know what you think of this design. My verdict is still out. It’s very different for me.

This is a pretty new to me technique. For this card I used the Winter Wonderland set and stamped it onto holographic cardstock. Before stamping, I applied Brilliance White pigment ink using a cotton ball so that the black silhouettes would pop off the page. I arranged the scene so that the smaller houses were in the back giving the illusion of distance and the larges house and tee in the front. I just love how the rainbow of colors shine through. Let me know if you want to see more of this technique in the future.
