Hello there! Today I am sharing a clean and simple design using the Mini Butterflies stamp set from Prickley Pear. I just love adding splashes of colors and stamping with a black silhouette. I think you’re going to find this is an impactful design.
Creating a clean and simple card, doesn’t mean that it can’t have bold design elements. For this card I blended Distress Oxide inks through a simple splash stencil and repeated it three times in Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, and Mermaid Lagoon, all of which are bold colors. I followed the rule of thirds that is common in photography. Basically you split your design into thirds, in this case I left the bottom third full of white space to keep the eye moving up.
After the stenciling was complete I then stamped three of the Mini Butterflies onto the splashes of colors making sure to have a portion of each one hanging off into the white space. This add a lot of interest without having to apply “more”. To finish of my card I added matching enamel dots and stamped the beautiful sentiment that quotes Ralph Waldo Emerson.
