Hello my sweet friends. Lately I have been thinking about how to bring light to all the darkness that we have going on in the world right now. Before you leave, I’m not going to go into any of those things, but it was the inspiration for my two cards that I made using the Curious Cosmo stamp set from Sweet Sentiment Stamps.
Making this card was quite simple, all I did was layout where I wanted the stamps on a piece of A2 sized white cardstock and made sure the center dot of the geometric shape was in the center. If you are wondering how to find the center using a ruler plot the half way points from top to bottom and side to side and draw the lines. The intersecting point is the center. I then lined up the Curious Cosmo over that point and picked up with door of my Misti. I flipped the panel over so that I didn’t have to erase the pencil marks. I stamped the white panel in black and then because my stamps were already positioned I stamped the geometric shape with Versamark ink and embossed it in white. Okay, I just made that sound so much harder than it was. Finally I cut the white panel in half and layered it on top of the black panel. Voila we are done!
I will start off and say that this is not something that I am mailing due to the sentiment hanging off the side, but it will be on my desk where I do most of my work. I was dying to make a diagonal design with the color blocking, but the size of the sentiment didn’t play nice with my idea. So I changed gears and decided to have it hanging off. Basically this card was made exactly the same way with the exception of creating an x on my cardstock to find the center point. This was done by using a ruler and drawing a line from one edge to the other.
I forgot to mention that I used a white and gray colored pencil to add shading to the elements to go along with the gradient of darkness to light. super fun right? Also another thing that I forgot to tell you, the Curious Cosmo stamp set comes with the most beautiful flower to create 3D flowers.
