How To Create a Howling Night Sky

Today I am participating in Video Hop with Whimsy Stamps where the video team will be sharing their top 3 Halloween favorites. Each of us have our own so be sure to jump over to Youtube and hop along, and have a chance to win a gift card! All the details will be over there!

In my video I talk extensively how to create a Howling Night Sky with Distress Oxide inks and Black silhouette die cuts. If you haven’t guessed I am using the Howling Night stamp and die, which are actually different from one another, but equally cool. I used the dies for the scene of the card, and a sentiment from the stamp set. I went into the project thinking I was going to do all kinds of stamping, and quickly changed my mind. I’m just so thrilled with the dies!

To create the sky I blended Distress Oxide inks in the colors Scattered Straw, Antique Linen, Crackling Campfire, Candied Apple, Aged Mahogany, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot. Wow that’s a lot, but I just love the effect! To make the clouds I blended the Hickory Smoke using a Domed Foam Blender and torn cardstock. But don’t you love the Clawed Stencil in the Moon? That was blended with Black Soot. Okay you can find the entire process below!
