I had so much fun coloring this bird from Spellbinders’ and Stampendous Sweet Song stamp set. Now there are actually three birds in this set, but I am only showing one today. I love this set because it comes with a puddle and footprint image so you can make an array of settings. I think next time I create with this set, I will make a beach scene because I love watching little birds hopping along the sand. Tell me what’s your favorite thing about birds?
I stamped the floral image first onto smooth cardstock and then partially stamped the bird. I call this lazy girl masking, meaning I purposely wiped away the ink from the bird’s legs so that they didn’t overhang the flowers. Now if you want to get precise, you can definitely stamp the flowers onto masking paper and apply it over the floral before stamping the bird. I colored the Sweet Song with Copics as well as the cloud background. After that I die cut and matted it with the Postage Edge Squares. To finish it off I added a little bling.
