Stamp Surgery got us three amazing cards using the Mazel Tov stamp set from Maker Forte! The first two cards were pretty straight forward, but the third is where the surgery took place and it made me gasp! I promise no one was hurt and no blood was involved!
This first card was very easy to create, and I think it would be a fun card for all skill levels to try out. I stamped the main image from the Mazel Tov stamp set using Embossing Glue ink and applied white embossing powder to it. Once the powder was cool, I then blended Color Hive Inks in the colors Vegas Strip and Eclipse Black onto the royal blue cardstock. I made sure to buff off any excess ink over the embossed images with a microfiber cloth before splattering the panel with Snow Flurries Pigment Ink. Once everything was dry I adhered the panel to a Perfect Fold A2 card base.
Creating this card was almost the same as the first one except I applied Embossing Glue Ink directly around the edges and then white embossing powder. Before melting the powder I removed some of it by using the Rose Gold Dual Tip Brush to get the distressed snowy window effect. You can see the full process in the video below.
Now this is the card that I performed stamp surgery on. I wanted to use the olive branches separately from the sentiment, so I cut it using a sharp scissors. This does not hurt your stamps in any way and you can use them as intended if you piece them back together. I stamped the two branches from Mazel Tov using Frappe Color Hive Ink so that I could do so no line Copic coloring. These branches are solid or a silhouette image so if you use a neutral color like a light skin tone or a light gray then you can color over them. I chose Frappe because I wanted to use the warm tone to my advantage because I knew it would pick up the yellow greens and off set the purples used in the olives. Once the coloring was complete, I blended Flat White Color Hive Ink around the edges to draw the line in. I splattered the panel with gold acrylic paint and while it dried worked on the sentiment. I embossed the Happy Hannukah sentiment onto vellum using a copper embossing powder and then added it to my panel like a belly band. For the full details and coloring please see the video below!
