Memory Dex Life Is Good Entry

Lately I have been trying to come up with a way to create art for myself, but I have never had much success in keeping an art journal despite my best efforts. I decided to give a Memory Dex a try, because it small projects that I can make as simple or as complex as I want. Then I had the great idea of incorporating my bible study time to creating and memorizing scripture. For today’s entry I chose the Life Is Good stamp from Sweet Sentiment Stamps. Even those these stamps are Egyptian themed, I didn’t want to journal about the typical Pharaoh story. Instead I focused on the the senitment from Cleo and Egypt and found a scripture about what God says about learning. He has a lot to say, but I decided to focus on Philippians 4:9 NIV. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Life is Good is very fitting because, anytime I point my heart to the cross, my life is better. That may sound cliché but it is true. To start my memory dex I blended Distress Oxides in the colors Salvaged Patina, Scattered Straw and Crackling Campfire through the Mandala Stencil on to a Kraft card. Once that was complete I stamped the sentiment from Cleo and Egypt using Versafine Nocturne Ink. Next I stamped the Ankh from Life is Good onto smooth cardstock and colored it with Copics before applying to the memory card. Every project needs a little bling so I added some of the blue enamel dots from the Winterberry collection. I just love this!!!

If you are wondering, I write the memory verse on the back side. On other cards I write specific prayers, but I don’t need to bore you with that. You’re here for the art!

Also on most days you can find both Sandy and Jammie doing Facebook lives showing you their wicked coloring skills. Be sure to check it out sometime!
