Scrappy Tails Crafts Layering Sunflowers Two Ways

Hello my friends! Autumn is officially here! I couldn’t believe it was dark by 8:30 last night! I’m not ready for that jazz! But since I can’t beat the inevitable I thought I would make cards with my two favorite Fall flowers, the Sunflower and Mums. I love that by altering our die cuts, in this case the Layering Sunflowers that you can get two different flowers.

For my first card I paired the Layering Sunflowers with the Aztec Stencil to create a high contrasting background. I colored the flowers with Copics, but any medium would work for this. I also shaped the flowers using a stylus and foam pad to obtain the realistic three dimensional flower.

The second card was also created using the Layering Sunflower die, but I colored them with typical Mum colors. Also to create the Mum petal, I cut each of the petals in half lengthwise going all the way to the center. I love it when you can get a two for one by being a little creative. I paired these flowers with another sentiment from the Wild Sunflower stamp set.
