Letter Press and Embossing with Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Hot Foil Plate

Hey friends! I am back with another project with the Santa Lane Collection from Spellbinders. I wanted to use the Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Plate a little differently than intended by using it like a letter press. In addition to this I heat embossed over it. I just love how this turned out!

I love hot foil plates, but when I purchase items, I like to investigate if there are other ways to use them, and surprisingly there are! I used the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Plate like a letter press by using an embossing mat in my Platinum Die Cutting Machine which presses the design into the cardstock. After that I applied an embossing in over the raised area light and added gold embossing powder to it. I love the bold impression this adds! I stamped a piece of white cardstock with a retired Stampin Up sentiment and then die cut it using the Candlewick Classic dies.

Finally I inked up white cardstock with various distress oxide inks and then die cut them with the Layered Poinsettia dies. I shaped them with a stylus from Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit. I really enjoyed mixing the elegant design of the background with the vintage inked poinsettias. Let me know what you think.
