Layered Masculine Background Building

Creating masculine cards seems to be something that so many of us struggle with, but I find tackling them with multiple layers makes them more manageable. I usually decide on a color scheme first when creating layered masculine backgrounds and then decided on the products to create the layers. For this Maker Forte card, I used stamps, stencils and layered ink blending resulting in a one of a kind background.

To start this card, I applied three Color Hive inks in the colors of Frappe, Flat White and Fog to the Distressed Plaid stamp and softened the ink with a blending brush. Next I blended Uncharted Mariner Distress Ink through the En Paris stencil to cover the entire card front panel. Once that was complete, Flat White was blended over the panel to create a vignette.

The Find Your Compass Die was cut out using Eclipse Black Cardstock and then Embossing Glue ink and gold embossing powder were added to its edges to add more texture and distressing to the masculine design. Before adhering it to the front of the card, I stamped the sentiment from On Track and distressed the edges. A brushed gold cardstock layer mats the panel and is then adhered to an Eclipse Black Cardstock A2 base. This was a very quick and easy card to make and I hope you will give it a try or a similar design!
