Hi friends! One of the first intermediate to advanced techniques I learned in my card making journey was making 3D flowers. I was enamored with the layers, texture and dimension and couldn’t get enough of it. As in I did it all of the time, until I didn’t. Thinking back on it, purchasing my Copics was the stopping point, but today changes that. I married my love for flower making with my love of coloring with this awesome stamp set from Sweet Sentiment called Pensive Peony. Let’s take a quick look..

I began by stamping the entire Pensive Peony set twice with Memento ink and colored them with RV family. I added a pop YG 01 strategically to make the color pop a bit more. After fussy cutting them with a scan n cut, I inked the back side with Rose Bud Memento ink because I knew I would be shaping them and some of the otherwise white paper would show. I used three different embossing stylus to shape or curl them. From there I used wet glue and foam tape to layer the flowers. I used almost all of the images from both stamping to create this trio of flowers. I just love how it came out. I also love how Sweet Sentiement included a geometric image looking like a compass in the set I heat embossed that with silver powder, but you only see the arrow on the card. Also aren’t the background layers gorgeous? Using the Ornate Banners from Pink Fresh Studios I created the wonderful backdrop for the flowers. I love dimension not only in the form of height, but also in color, so I blending navy ink around the peacock layer of the banner. For final bells and whistles, I added silver jewelry wire and gemstones to the panel. I purposely left a sentiment off for now, until I determine who will be receiving this card.
