What I mean by almost, is that there aren’t technically any starts except for the sun… in a sunset! But, I am using the Under the Stars stamp set from Maker Forte for this pretty card today. I attempted a polaroid-ish design. Let me know if I pulled it off!
I started this card by blending my Color Hive inks on to a white card stock panel measuring 3.5 x 3.5 inches using blending brushes. I started with the Lemon, followed by Coral Keys, Vegas Strip and Sugar Plum going in a horizontal fashion to create the sunset. I recommend laying the stamp set over the cardstock square before blending so that you have an idea of where you want to place your colors. In this example I wanted the yellows/oranges to be at the peak of the trees to give the illusion of the sun going behind them. Then using my Misti and Eclipse Black ink I stamped the Under The Stars image in the center of the panel. But I wasn’t done yet, I added a vignette around the panel to give the illusion of the night sky encroaching.
Once the stamping and inking were complete I started on the card construction. I made an A2 sized card base from Eclipse Black cardstock and adhered the elements to it. I matted both the ink blended panel an sentiment with a matte silver cardstock and popped it up with foam tape to give a little dimension. I then added them in a fashion to replicate a polaroid picture shape. It was so much fun getting inky with this and I think it would be a great project for all skill levels.
