Hello my friends! I am very excited to be back with Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps this month. If you struggle with masculine card design, then you will want to stick with me throughout May for Masculine Mash-up! Despite it being the name of my series for SNSS, it’s also the name of the stamp set that I will be using. Masculine Mash-up comes with ten images and nine sentiments that cover most masculine themed hobbies making it perfect for birthdays and Father’s Day!
I had a very hard time deciding which stamp I wanted to use for my first card, but in the end the bowling “strike” called me. When I think of masculine design I envision bold colors and fonts with minimal embellishments so that’s what I tried to obtain. I started out by stamping with Copic friendly ink and colored it in “groovy colors”. I created the blue background by coloring it in a vibrant blue and then ink blending around the die cut edges to draw the eye in. Of course I embossed the sentiment because it’s my favorite thing to do, but then I decided to bring a bold sentiment at the bottom that matched my bowling ball using 6×6 paper pad from Pink & Main that I believe has been retired.
