Fluttering Around Background with Jacob’s Coat Technique

Hello friends! If you been around a while, then I’m bringing back an oldie, but a goodie, but if you’re new to card making definitely stay with me. Today’s card features the Jacob’s Coat Technique using the Maker Forte’s Fluttering Around Background stamp. I just love vibrant neon colors on a dark background and I think this card is a knock out!

To create the Jacob’s Coat technique, I applied the following Color Hive Inks in the colors Purple Rain, Rah Rah Skirt, and Acid Wash to the Fluttering Around Background and stamped it down twice to get a nice coat of color. Quickly I applied clear embossing powder over the butterfly images and heat embossed them. By embossing the images you trap the color underneath which allows for it to show through after you apply Eclipse Color Hive Ink over it. Once the panel cools down, you can reveal the color by wiping away the black ink from the embossing, otherwise known as emboss resist technique. To finish off the card, I add a sentiment from The Simple Sayings Sassy Celebrations collection and a few gems. For the full process check out the video below…
