Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Botanical Branches

Hello friends! It appears the groundhog retreated to his den after seeing his shadow yesterday. Fingers crossed that means we only have six more weeks of winter! I’d be thankful for less, but I will leave it in God’s hands. Today I am bringing you a card for Sweet “n Sassy using the Botanical Branches stamp set. I chose the olive branch because I wanted to practice strategic color placement, creating a two toned or not yet ripened olive. I saw Yana do this a while ago and wanted to give it a go.

I love the way this turned out, and really it wasn’t hard at all to create. I stamped the olive branch three times with Memento ink so that I could color it with Copics. I used a couple different green combinations for the leaves so that they would pop from the page. I am loving the purple olives and am so glad I tried this one out. I decided to blend Pear Tart ink from Memento around the front panel to add depth and dimension, bringing the eye to the sentiment. I opted to go with a sentiment from the God is Good stamp set because I thought it was perfect for the olive images. For final touches I splattered gold paint onto the panel to add little shimmer and shine before adhering it to the A2 card base.
