Joy Clair Designs Springish Fiesta Hop

Hello friends and welcome back! I’m so glad you’re here with me today for the Joy Clair Designs Springish Fiesta Blog Hop. I have to tell you, I am in love with this collection and could barely contain my excitement without blabbing it all over the place before today! This collection has seven different stamp sets that meet the “all occasion” criteria. I am especially in love with the florals, because I love coloring them. Ironically today, I didn’t choose a floral, but a cool little lock from the Always In Style digital stamp set. Not long after my husband and started dating we engraved a lock with our initials on it and applied it to the Purple People Bridge that connects Cincinnati with the Northern Kentucky area, spanning the Ohio River. I know that’s not original to Cincinnati, since I believe the tradition was started in Paris. But anyways, that was my inspiration for my card today. Before I get into the card, I just want to show you the entire Springish Fiesta collection…

As I mentioned I chose to work with the Always In Style stamp set which I printed onto smooth cardstock and colored with Copics. Right now I am loving vibrant reds with vibrant aquas, and the best way I know how to make things look the most vibrant is to have plenty of saturation, shadows, and highlights in your coloring. I chose dark cool grays to make the red pop, and a trio of Distress Oxides for the background. I chose a simple blocked off sentiment from the Always In Style set to accompany the image, but not distract from it. I also used a Garden Trellis die to symbolize the fencing of the bridge. I really hope the translation comes across?
