Over The Moon with Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps

Hello friends! How’s your day going? I’d love to hear from you! In the meantime, I am bringing you another card for Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps using the Over The Moon stamp set. I had so much fun making this one because I got to play with my two favorite mediums, Distress Oxides and Copics. I bet you couldn’t have guessed that one, right?

As you can imagine, I started with the background so that it could dry thoroughly while I colored the Over The Moon images. To create the galaxy I blended multiple layers of Distress Oxides in the colors of Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot onto Bristol Smooth paper. In between layers I splattered the panel with water to create droplets and depth. Once I was happy with the blend I added white splatters creating the stars. I layed that aside to dry while I colored the spaceship and astronaut with Copics. I fiddled with arrangements of the images before decided where to stamp and emboss the sentiment, which ended up in the bottom right corner. I thought it needed to pop more, so I colored in the word “star” with a white gel pen. Finally I created the scene and matted onto black cardstock before adhering it to an A2 card base. I just love how this came out and love the sweet face of the astronaut!
