Hello friends! I hope you are having a good week? Lately I have been making a very conscious decision to let friends, family and acquaintances know that they are loved and that they are important to me, and I’ve been doing this through cards. Today’s slimline card features the digital stamp, Spring Rose from Joy Clair Designs. I happen to love these roses in this stamp and the beautiful sentiments that accompany it. Let’s take a look at the stamp set before I tell you about my project.
I started with the background first to allow it to dry. I applied a silver paste through a diamond stencil and layed it aside to dry while I colored up two flowers from the Spring Rose stamp set. You will notice that I printed one larger than the other, which is why I love digital stamps so much, as they give you creative freedom. I also printed out a sentiment from Spring Rose and blocked it off by adding hand drawn brackets. I fussy cut the two flowers and outlined the edges in black to keep it from showing against the background. Once the background was dry I die cut it with a nesting mini slimline die. A good one for this would be the Wonky Stitched Mini Slimline dies found in the Joy Clair Designs shop. I then matted this layer in red and adhered it to a card base measuring 7 x 6.5 inches and scored at 3.5 inches. I then arranged the florals and popped the larger flower up with foam tape. Next I matted the sentiment and adhered it to the bottom right. I opted not to add bling, because I thought the silver diamond design provided enough interest and shine. What do you think? Does it need bling?
