It’s A Birthday Celebration!

Hello friends! It’s birthday week for me! I’m 29 all over again! Lol! I’m curious how do you celebrate your birthday? For me it’s just another day, plus cake! Today I have a quick project for Joy Clair Designs, using the digital stamp set, Make a Wish. I love this stamp set because it can pull double duty as a holiday stamp because it comes with two images, one being candles, and the other, a pile of gifts. For me it is very important to be able to come up with multiple uses for my supplies before buying, and this one definitely checks the box!!! Let’s take a look…

To create this card I sized the Make A Wish candles image to measure approximately 6 inches wide to fit the front panel of a mini slimline card. I then die cut the panel to add stitching, for example the Big & Little Chain Rectangle Mini Slimline die that can be found in the shop would be perfect for this but for my card today I used the X Stitch Mini Slimline die. I then colored the candles with my favorite Copic combos and added Distress Oxide ink in the color Tumbled glass along the border to add more interest. In addition I used a sentiment from Make a Wish and die cut it into a banner. I felt like the sentiment needed to pop a little more, so I blended Worn Lipstick around the border before adhering it to the front panel. And of course no birthday card would be complete without a little shine so the pearl splatter made an appearance.

Copic coloring:
BG 75, 72, 11
Y 26, 23, 21
R 22, 21, 20

That just about wraps things up for me. You can find the entire collection of stamps HERE!
