Clean and Simple Design with Lovely Lotus

Hello friends! How was your week? I’m certainly glad it is Friday! I don’t have any real plans, but I am going to buy new cabinets for my studio today! Yay Me!!! I’m dreaming of warm Spring days and sunshine, so I thought I’d bring you a clean and simple card featuring the Lovely Lotus stamp set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.

Sometimes you need a card letting someone know that you are praying for them and support them through tough times, and I thought this peaceful scene was perfect for this occasion. To start this card I stamped the Lovely Lotus flower onto smooth cardstock with Memento ink. I also created a mask so that I could blend a water scene around it. After applying the mask, I blended Distress Oxides in the colors Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China, and Tumbled glass creating a soft water background. I also used two of the blooms from Lovely Lotus and stamped directly on the card base to create a soft pattern in the same colors. I colored the Lotus flower with an easy blend of Copics and added white highlights and texture with a gel pen. Finally I heat embossed the sentiment in black before adhering the front panel to the card base.

Copic coloring:
Petals: RV 19, 34, 32, Y00
Stamen: Y 00, 19
Lily Pad: YG 67, 17, 03, 01
