Hi friends! Who can resist a hot cuppa joe, on these long winter days? Maybe you’re not a huge fan of coffee, but I’m betting you love a good cup of hot cocoa? This Santa is jumping for joy over his cocoa, this winter’s day! I imagine you have figured out that there’s a fun caffeinated hop going on by now, and that Joy Clair Designs is a super sponsor! Knowing that I just had to jump in with this fun Christmas scene. Have fun hopping!
To create this card I used a couple of digital stamps from Joy Clair Designs, but I have to admit the Santa Love is my all time favorite Santa. Because I wanted him large and in charge, I decided to make an A7 or 5×7 inch card. I made the adorable mugs with the Christmas Cocoa digital stamp and made sure to place them on the same plane while in my editing software. In addition I flipped the images, which is one of my favorite things to do with digital stamps. I added the whip cream, marshmallows and candy canes to the scene, because I don’t know if Santa prefers coffee or hot chocolate? Hmm.. I will have to think about that!
Once I printed out the images onto smooth cardstock, I drew in a simple table using a T-ruler and then colored the scene with Copics. One of my last steps was embossing the sentiment from the Santa’s Favorite digital stamp set. Yep you read that correctly! You can indeed emboss digital images by tracing the image or in this case the sentiment with and embossing medium pen and then apply the powder. To embellish my card, I die cut a string of lights. I think hot cocoa. Too much coffee wouldn’t be good for Santa. Maybe the reindeers drink coffee? Terrific card!
