It’s Time To Get Your Spook On

Oh my goodness, you guys I had so much fun making this card that I’m about to share with you. I mean, I am in love with this card. Not only is it cool, but I finally pulled out my alcohol inks which are my favorite!!! Whimsy Stamps pulled all the stops for their Halloween release this year, you have to check them out! So cool!

This card took some time to make only because I worked on another project while my alcohol inks were drying. I highly recommend pulling out some acetate and 3 of your favorite alcohol inks and go to town. For this card, I used 3 greens and rose gold mixative, and moved the inks around with a Conair Brush Curling Iron. You say what.. That’s right a curling iron of sorts. I removed the brush attachments and used the base that blows out air to move it around. I saw this on YouTube but can’t remember who it was. I am sorry! Once it was dry I then die cut the “glass” portion of the Slimline Hour Glass die so that most of the ink was at the top of the panel.

Next I die cut the same piece again in black and centered it on a slimline sized panel to have a template to inlay the acetate into and then again in white. The white panel is what I stamped the scene onto with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. My images came from the Zombie Party and Scream Time clear stamps. Here’s a little tip. Anything that you want to be in the front, you need to stamp first and heat emboss, and then stamp the background. An example of this, is the zombies and the grass. The grass was stamped second. Once the stamping was complete I finished die cutting the hourglass pieces and assembled that.

But wait.. I’m not done. Do you see those amazing spiders? Wow Whimsy knocked it out of the park with these creepy arachnoids! I die cut all of the things from the Spiders and Webs set, but only used a few. To adhere the spider web wrapped it around the panel and taped it from the back so that adhesive wouldn’t show through the vellum. Okay… I think that’s enough?

Just a small disclaimer! All items used in all of my projects are (or have been) purchased with my own funds, but this does not include design team items that I have received or otherwise stated.

Happy Haunting!!!
